Point in polygon operations in QGIS

Open a new QGIS project and the following layers to the map from the MGIS data:

  • oregondata.gdb/counties
  • oregondata.gdb/volcanoes

  1. Check the CRS information for the two layers. What is the CRS? Are both the same?

  2. Use the “Count points in polygon” tool to count the number of volcanoes in Oregon counties.

  3. Style the layer using Jenks Natural Breaks and 5 classes.
